Genk wins on the fandag
K.R.C. Genk has concluded the preseason with a 2-1 win over FC Twente on the fandag at home. Team captain Bryan Heynen, who was honored before the match as the player with the most matches for Genk, and Junya Ito scored in the opening quarter for two early goals.
Genk dominates in the second half
The visitors dominated especially in the second half, but goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans and the goalpost prevented a long equalizer, which came in the end via Marko Pjaca (ex-Anderlecht).
Genk loses heavily in the past weeks
The team of new coach Jess Thorup lost heavily in the past weeks to AZ and Leverkusen, but just before the start of the season, the Genk engine seems to be getting back on track after the 3-1 win on Saturday against TOP Oss and the win today against Twente.
