Genk searches for gold again
K.R.C. Genk saw Konstantinos Karetsas leave for Borussia Dortmund this summer. The Greek top talent earned a record fee of around 35 million euros, but Genk already has new gold nuggets in the pipeline. The youth academy of K.R.C. Genk is considered one of the best in Belgium, if not Europe.
Young Devils Josué Kongolo
The 20-year-old central defender Josué Kongolo is being pushed forward as the new gold nugget of K.R.C. Genk after Karetsas. Kongolo has been in the A-team of Genk for three years and must make his breakthrough this season. He is a real duelist and ready to give the Genk defense more strength.
Other talents in the pipeline
The 18-year-old Lucca Brughmans is also predicted to have a bright future. The goalkeeper came under the bar last season and will likely get the trust this season as well. Midfielder August De Wannemacker (17) is also a promising top talent.
What's next?
According to Steven Defour, Kongolo will be the next big top transfer of Genk. "I expect that he may be the next big top transfer of Genk", quoted Het Nieuwsblad.
