What does this transfer mean for K.R.C. Genk?
The Belgian top-flight side sees Durosinmi as a profile that fits their sporting ambitions perfectly. The Nigerian combines strength, height, and scoring ability, giving Genk extra firepower up front. Club officials say he is ready to play immediately and can strengthen their attack.
Durosinmi arrives from Pisa SC but previously impressed at FC Viktoria Plzeň in the Czech Republic. There, he scored 35 goals in 86 matches and provided 10 assists. His professional career totals now stand at 150 games, 54 goals, and 17 assists.
Why did Durosinmi choose Genk?
The Nigerian striker cited Genk’s ambitions, style of play, and player development opportunities as key reasons for his move. He also highlighted the influence of teammate Paul Onuachu. Onuachu, who played for Genk, spoke highly of the club, its fans, and how it works with players.
“I want to be important for the team from day one, score goals, and give everything in every match,” Durosinmi said. “I spoke with Paul about the club. He told me many great things about Genk, the supporters, and the way the club works with players. I am proud to be a Genkie.”
What does the club say about the new striker?
Genk’s head of football, Dimitri de Condé, praised Durosinmi’s qualities. “Rafiu is a striker with attributes that align well with how K.R.C. Genk wants to play,” de Condé said. “He is strong in the box and good in combination play. A typical number 9 you can pass the ball to.”
Genk aims to compete at the top of the Jupiler Pro League with Durosinmi’s arrival. The club sees him as a player who can make an immediate impact.
